Dear Brother Archons and Friends of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate,
It is with immense sorrow that I must inform you of the sudden death of Archon Dr. Nawaf Salameh, who passed away earlier today on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. He was 59 years old. Archon Salameh leaves behind a unique and inspiring legacy of diakonia and philanthopia to God’s Holy Church.
Dr. Salameh was a Romanian businessman of extraordinary accomplishment. In all of his many and varied endeavors, he was guided by his deep devotion to his Holy Orthodox Faith. He was born in 1965 into an Orthodox family in Marmarita, Syria, an area called “the Valley of the Christians.” In 1983, he moved to Romania to study medicine, earning his degree in 1991. In Romania, he founded the Alexandrion Group, as well as NS & Sons Global Investment, and served as their longtime chairman. In 2004, he earned a designation for national security and defense issues from the National Defense College of Romania, and in 2013, a Ph.D in Globalization Economics from Carol I National Defense University, Bucharest.
On Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Annual Archon Agape Luncheon, the Order of St. Andrew, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, presented the Archon Sophia Award for Excellence to Archon Dr. Nawaf Salameh and his beloved wife Rim Daoud Salameh. The Sophia Award for Excellence is given annually by the Order to an individual or individuals who have distinguished themselves in endeavors that serve the needs of the Holy Mother Church and the Sacred Mission of the Archons of the Great Church of Christ.
Dr. Nawaf Salameh was invested as an Archon on October 9, 2022 and conferred with the offikion Referendarios.
Archon Dr. Salameh will be sorely missed by his loving family, including his wife Rim Daoud, who serves as vice president of the Alexandrion Foundation, and their three sons. Of his beloved wife, Dr. Salameh recently stated: “She’s an extraordinary human being who fills my family’s world with kindness, compassion and strength. She has this incredible ability to keep everything in balance and keep us all glued together. Her dedication to our family, as a devoted mother to our three sons, is something that I truly admire and that I’m very grateful for.”
Archon Dr. Salameh, with all his dynamism and dedication to our Holy Mother Church, will be missed by all his Brother Archons. Let us strive in all our efforts for our Mother Church to emulate his unwavering commitment to our Church, our Faith, and our beloved Ecumenical Patriarchate.
May his memory be eternal.
Yours in the service of our Holy Mother Church,
