With the blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America and in consultation with His Eminence Metropolitan Gregory, Titular Bishop of Nyssa and Primate of the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese of North America, Dr. Anthony J. Limberakis, National Commander of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate (AEP), has appointed Gary C. Grysiak Regional Commander for the American Carpatho-Russian Diocese of North America.
Dr. Limberakis stated: “Ever since the passing of Archon John Halecky Jr., the Carpatho-Russian Archons have not participated in the AEP leadership, and that void will now be filled by a most able and committed Archon of the Holy and Great Church of Christ. Axios, Archon Gary!”
Archon Grysiak remarked: “It is an immense honor and blessing for me to accept this appointment as Regional Commander for the American Carpatho-Russian Diocese of North America. This is a magnificent opportunity to expand and deepen my service to His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and to protect the future of faith. I am grateful to His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros, His Eminence Metropolitan Gregory of Nyssa, and National Commander Dr. Limberakis for providing me with abundant new avenues for service.”
Archon Grysiak is also a member of the Metropolis and Parish Education Archon Engagement Committee, which is dedicated to developing an overall educational strategy for individual parish and Metropolis communities, focusing on the role of our Ecumenical Patriarchate in world Orthodoxy in general and on American Orthodoxy in particular. He is a Sponsor of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation, In Honor of Benjamin Grysiak and In Memory of Metropolitan Nicholas. Archon Grysiak is a Subdeacon and has served for over sixty years as Cantor at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in East Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
In addition to his tireless efforts for the Church, Archon Grysiak is a retired CPA in Pennsylvania.
Gary Grysiak was invested as an Archon on February 27, 1999 and conferred with the offikion Aktouarios.
According to the Bylaws of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Order’s National Commander is to appoint Regional Commanders to serve for a period of one year. Each Regional Commander serves as the representative of the National Council in the region in order to carry out the purposes, objectives and principles of the Archons and promote the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation.
An Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate is an honoree by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew for his outstanding service to the Church, and a well-known, distinguished, and well-respected leader of the Orthodox Christian community.
