Ambassador Philip T. Reeker Visits the Ecumenical Patriarchate

His Excellency Ambassador Philip T. Reeker, who is in charge of European and Eurasian affairs for the U.S. State Department, visited the Sacred See of the Ecumenical Patriarchate on Saturday, October 3, 2020, accompanied by the U.S. Ambassador to Ankara, Mr. David Satterfield.

Ambassador Reeker was received by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, with whom he had a long discussion on various topics of common interest and concern.

The Ambassador was also accompanied by the honorable U.S. Consul General in Istanbul, Ms. Daria Darnell, and Mr. Kevin S. Moss, an officer of the Consulate, and the meeting was attended by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, and the Archon Didaskalos of the Genos, Professor Konstantinos Delikostantis, Director of the First Patriarchal Office.

Today, Sunday, October 4, 2020, His All-Holiness was present and praying during the Divine Liturgy in the Patriarchal Church of Saint George, celebrated by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.

Subsequently, he jointly received His Eminence Archbishop Leonta of Helsinki and all Finland, accompanied by Fr. Ioannis Lambropoulos, Fr. Michael Sidoroff, the Protodeacon Mr. Andreas Salminen and the theologian Mr. Elisaio Heikkila.
