Dear Brother Archons,
It’s that time of year again when we nominate worthy, outstanding churchmen to join the ranks of Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, as Protectors of the Future of Faith. If you have identified a distinguished Orthodox Christian who exemplifies the faith, character, and commitment to service expected of an Archon, we encourage you to nominate him for consideration. Each candidate must be nominated by an existing Archon and endorsed by a second Archon. The candidate should then be directed to archons.org/candidate-credentials to complete a Credentials Form (CF). Nominations, endorsements, and completed Credentials Forms must be submitted by April 1, 2027.
Those who participate in the nomination and review process — through endorsement, recommendation, local due diligence, or consultation, as applicable — are identified in the Credentials Form.
The completed Credentials Forms and supporting recommendations are reviewed by the Archon Selection Committee, of which His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, is an active participant. The final list of approved candidates is thereafter submitted to the Ecumenical Patriarch for final approval and the granting of Offikia.
