Pilgrimage to Northern Greece and Turkey, led by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America

February 24 – March 7, 2022

(12 Days / 10 Nights)

Dear Brother Archons,

We are pleased to inform you that His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America is leading a pilgrimage to Thessaloniki, Mt Athos (Sacred Monasteries of Xenophontos, Simonopetra & Vatopaidi), Komotini and to Constantinople, the heart of Orthodoxy. Women are welcomed to join and will remain in Thessaloniki to visit Vergina, Tomb of Alexander the Great’s father King Philip II, and enjoy free time in the city while the men are on the Holy Mountain.

Highlights will include His Eminence receiving an honorary doctoral degree from the Democritus University of Thrace and in Constantinope will also include a private audience with His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, celebrating Liturgy and Vespers at St George Cathedral at the Ecumenical Patriarchate and a visit to the island of Halki, the home of the renowned Patriarchal School of Theology.

This certainly will be a wonderful experience with our spiritual father in America who will lead pilgrims to Northern Greece and Turkey. The attached flyers provide details of the pilgrimage.

In the Service of the Ecumenical Patriarchate,

Anthony J. Limberakis, MD

Archon Aktouarios

National Commander
