“Iranian Christian Convert Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison,” Iran International, November 18, 2024:
A Revolutionary Court in Karaj has sentenced an Iranian Christian convert to 10 years in prison and a two-year ban on social activities. Tomaj Aryankia received the sentence on November 5 after attending a court hearing following a phone summons. According to Mohabat News, Aryankia was charged with “propaganda against the Islamic Republic through promoting Christianity.” He also faced accusations of collaborating with “hostile governments” and “membership in anti-Islamic Republic groups.”… While Iran recognizes Christians as a religious minority, authorities harshly persecute those who convert from Islam to Christianity.
