Archon George N. Pappas, CPA Appointed to Archon Audit Committee

Dr. Anthony J. Limberakis, National Commander of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, has appointed Archon George N. Pappas, CPA to the Archon Audit Committee, joining Archon John Psaltos, CPA and Chair, Archon Peter Kakoyiannis, Esq.

Dr. Limberakis stated: “I am immensely pleased and honored to make this appointment. Archon George has lifelong experience in accounting, going back to his major in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting at Rutgers University, from which he graduated in 1980. Now he operates his own, highly respected CPA/Accounting firm in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, but above all, he is indefatigably committed to protecting the future of faith and supporting and defending our Mother Church of Constantinople. He is a perfect fit for our Audit Committee.”

“I see this,” said Archon Pappas, “as both an immense honor and a great responsibility. I’m honored to be able to use my accounting expertise in service to the Lord and His Holy Church, and grateful for the opportunity to do so.”

Archon George N. Pappas, CPA has a long record of loving service to the Hellenic-American community. He has served as president of the Hellenic University Club of Philadelphia, whose scholarship program is the largest scholarship grant-giving program to students of Greek descent and students with declared majors in Hellenic Studies in the Greater Philadelphia Region, from 2014 to 2016. He is the vice chairman of the Greek American Chamber of Commerce, an organization whose goal is to lead young Greek American businesspeople toward success by giving them the opportunity to meet other successful persons in the Greek American community.

In addition to all that, Archon Pappas is currently the treasurer of the New Jersey Hellenic Federation. He has been a member of the Sons of Pericles (SOP) and the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) for almost 30 years, and has served as the District #5 Warden and Marshall. He served as President of his local AHEPA Camden Chapter #69 for two terms, from 2014 to 2016.

Archon Pappas also served as a parish council member of Saint Thomas Greek Orthodox Church in Cherry Hill, New Jersey from 1999 to 2006, seven years as the treasurer, one year as the president, and Agora co-chairman for the past twenty years. He is currently the assistant treasurer. He is married and has twins, a girl and a boy, aged 10.

George N. Pappas, CPA was invested as an Archon on October 22, 2023 and conferred with the offikion Nomodotis.
