Every year since 2015, the Metropolis of Chicago hosts an annual Archon Business meeting with their local Archons. These meetings, which are held at the St. Iakovos Retreat Center, allow the Archons to review Archon activities for the year, and to discuss topics of importance including, but not limited to, how to better improve their ability to promote the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
This year, the Archons refused to allow the COVID-19 pandemic to interfere with their ability to carry on with Archon business. Accordingly, the Metropolis of Chicago Archons held their first virtual business meeting via Zoom on Sunday, May 31. The event replaced their Fifth Annual Metropolis of Chicago Archon Business Retreat, which was scheduled for April 24 and 25. His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael of Chicago, The Very Rev. Fr. Timothy Bakakos, Chancellor of the Metropolis of Chicago, and Father Chrysanthos Kerkeres, the Metropolis Archon Liaison, along with 30 participants joined the virtual meeting via video and call-in options. Regional Commanders Gus M. Pablecas and John G. Manos hosted the Zoom meeting.
