Dr. Anthony J. Limberakis, the National Commander of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, will be honored at the celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Church of the Annunciation–Evangelismos, Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, a Philadelphia suburb, for a lifetime of diakonia to the Holy Mother Church. During his 28-year tenure as National Commander, domestic and international religious freedom initiatives were developed, Diakonia Ministries for all Archons were inaugurated, and — most importantly — the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation was established, to ensure the financial security of the Holy Mother Church in perpetuity.
A unique distinction of the Annunciation is its ties to Archon Leadership, as it was the home parish of the second National Commander, Dr. Anthony G. B. Borden (1976 to 1989), the late father-in-law of Dr. Limberakis, as well as the current and longest-serving National Commander, Dr. Limberakis.
The Annunciation Church invites all Archons to join them as they celebrate 125 years of faith and community — and honor National Commander Dr. Limberakis.
