Ecumenical Patriarch Meets with Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis in New York

As his Apostolic Visit to the United States continued, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew met on Tuesday, September 24, 2025, with Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, at the headquarters of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America in New York City.

Prior to the meeting of Prime Minister Mitsotakis with His All-Holiness, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros welcomed the Prime Minister to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

His All-Holiness expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Mitsotakis for Greece’s steadfast support of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and its global mission, including its support for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. He also offered reflections on his weeklong Apostolic Visit to the United States, which featured meetings with President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelenskyy, U.S. Congressional leaders including House Speaker Mike Johnson, senior U.S. government officials, and leaders of the Hellenic American community.
