The Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate offer warm congratulations to Kimberly Guilfoyle, whom the United States Senate on Thursday, September 18, 2025 confirmed as the U.S. Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic.
On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, Dr. Anthony J. Limberakis, National Commander of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, had an illuminating and productive in-person conversation with then-Ambassador-designate Kimberly Guilfoyle. They discussed the importance of safeguarding the religious freedom of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, the spiritual center for 300 million Orthodox Christians worldwide, and other matters of prime importance.
Dr. Limberakis provided Ms. Guilfoyle with a general overview of the Archons’ efforts in defense of religious freedom and human rights on behalf of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
On the occasion of her confirmation, Ambassador Guilfoyle stated: “I am profoundly grateful to President Donald J. Trump and the United States Senate for their trust and confidence in me. It is the honor of my life to serve as the first female Ambassador of the United States to the Hellenic Republic. Greece is the birthplace of democracy, liberty, and the rule of law — the very ideals that inspired our American Founders and continue to make America the greatest nation on Earth. As Ambassador, I look forward to working with our Greek Allies to advance peace, prosperity, and security in the Eastern Mediterranean. I will be a proud representative of President Trump, a fierce advocate for American interests, and a steadfast friend to Greece and the Greek people.”
Ambassador Guilfoyle is the 25th U.S. Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic following the elevation of the American Legation to Embassy status in 1942. The Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate are looking forward to working with Ambassador Guilfoyle to advance the cause of religious freedom and human rights, and for the support and defense of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
