The webinar will take place on Sunday, November 8, from 7-8 p.m. EST.

Dr. Purpura’s book explores the ways that the Orthodox tradition shapes and is in turn shaped by women’s roles, voices, and action in the Church. Following Dr. Purpura’s presentation, there will be a question-answer session.

Dr. Ashley M. Purpura is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies at Purdue University. Her research focuses on the history of Christian thought and practice and the potential of Christianity’s historical sources for shaping and reshaping contemporary religious perspectives among Orthodox Christian practitioners and communities. Purpura holds a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School and a Ph.D. in the History of Christianity from Fordham University.
