Dear Brother Archons,

The Archon office was recently notified regarding the sad news of the passing of Mrs. Virginia Kallins of Downey, California, the cherished wife of Archon Dr. James Kallins (101 years old) and mother of Archon Dr. George Kallins and Barbara Kallins Matty, the beloved wife of Archon Dr. David Matty. Mrs. Kallins fell asleep in the Lord at the age of 93 on November 1, 2025.

Throughout her long and inspiring life, Virginia always had a special place in her heart for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Church. She was a model of prayer and charity whom we would all do well to emulate.

Among many beautiful memories, I will always fondly recall the magnificent outdoor panagiri that the Kallins family hosted at their home during the 2002 Clergy-Laity Congress in Los Angeles, with multiple bar-b-que pits, roasting lambs and other Grecian delights.

Maria joins me and the entire Archon Family in extending our deepest condolences to Archons Dr. Jim, Dr. George, Dr. David, and Barbara. On behalf of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, we express our deep sympathy to his entire family with abiding faith in our Lord and Savior, and with hope in His resurrection!
