During the June 9-12, 2022 Religious Freedom Mission visit to Romania of a delegation from the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Dr. Anthony J. Limberakis, National Commander of the Order; Judge B. Theodore Bozonelis, the Order’s National Vice Commander; Father Alexander Karloutsos, Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and Spiritual Advisor of the Order; and Archon Candidate Dr. Nawaf Salameh were interviewed on Romanian television. “Father Alex,” as he is affectionately known worldwide, was interviewed by Cristina Cileacu, the producer of the show Paşaport Diplomatic (Diplomatic Passport). The interview was conducted in English. Father Alex, who was recently awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the United States’ highest civilian honor, and Ms. Cileacu discussed faith, religious freedom, tolerance and spirituality. They also explored aspects of the relationships Father Alex has had with eight American presidents, and particularly his close forty-year friendship with President Joe Biden. Dr. Limberakis was interviewed on the Romanian television program Universul Credinţei (Universe of Faith). During his interview, Dr. Limberakis explained the role and mission of the Archons, as well as the origin of the specific term Archon in Orthodox ecclesiastical terminology. A third interview included Judge B. Theodore Bozonelis, the Order’s National Vice Commander; Father Alex; and Dr. Salameh, who is Chairman of the Alexandrion Group and a FOUNDER of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation. The program including these interviews also aired on the program Universul Credinţei.

Each of these interviews aired on two Romanian TV stations, including TVR1, the national TV and radio network. They have now been uploaded on the Alexandrion Group’s YouTube channel. The Alexandrion Foundation is a strong supporter of religious freedom and open dialogue among interfaith communities.
Dr. Limberakis, Judge Bozonelis, and Father Alex were in Romania as part of a delegation that also included Archon John Mindala and Nicholas Kass. The delegation arrived in Bucharest on Thursday, June 9, along with an accompanying delegation consisting of Dr. Maria A. Limberakis and Mrs. Helen Bozonelis.
During this Religious Freedom Mission, the Archons and their associates met with some of the key religious and political leaders of the respective countries to discuss all-important issues of international religious freedom. The Mission proceeded from Romania to Bulgaria, and concluded in Greece.
