Rinaldo Marmara is a historian specialized in the history of Latin Catholic community in Turkey. He has several books and articles about the history of the Latin community covering the Byzantine, Ottoman, and Turkish Republican period.

Marmara is the spokesperson of the Episcopal Conference of Turkey and he was granted Chevalier de l’Ordre de Saint-Grégoire le Grand by the Vatican.
