Mr. Szymanski, who was born in Kalisz, Poland, in 1969, is a member of the European Parliament with the Polish Law and Justice Party. He is also a member of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group (ECR) in the European Parliament.

He is vice chairman of the special committee on the policy challenges and budgetary resources for a sustainable European Union after 2013; a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy; a delegate to the EU-Armenia, EU-Azerbaijan, and EU-Georgia Parliamentary Cooperation Committees, and ECR Coordinator in the delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly.
