On November 18 at 5:30PM EST, Emily Neumeier, Assistant Professor of Art History at Temple University, will present a lecture on the splendor, uniqueness, and artistic importance of Hagia Sophia, entitled “Hagia Sophia: The Biography of a Monument.”
Dr. Neumeier’s lecture will be broadcast over Zoom, and is open to the public.
Dr. Neumeier’s groundbreaking research concerns the art and architecture of the Eastern Mediterranean, particularly of the Ottoman Empire and the Turkish Republic. She has a deep respect for His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and his work, and was one of the courageous scholars who signed a petition to maintain the status of Hagia Sophia as a museum.
