Many NHS members and friends are involved in the real estate industry which along with many other sectors of the U.S. economy is in crisis. NHS Talks features an insider’s look at the commercial and related sectors from three outstanding philhellenes and good friends of the NHS.
What is the state of the real estate industry especially with commercial real estate. What strategies are available from landlord/tenant perspective, how much leeway is there with mortgage lenders and/or private equity investors.
We are joined by three real estate industry professionals each with a unique perspective, experience and successful track records that will share their thoughts on the current status of the industry and long term outlook.

John Chang
John Chang is the Senior Vice President and National Director of Research Services at Marcus & Millichap (MMI) a public real estate investment brokerage services firm. The Company’s founder and Chairman, George Marcus is the co-founder and Chair Emeritus of the NHS.
John serves on multiple research executive boards and regularly presents at numerous commercial real estate conferences. John and his team of research analysts produce hundreds of real estate research publications and materials each year, integrating economic and financial market trends with insights on all major commercial property types.
Peter Hartman
Peter is the Co-Founder of the law firm of Hartman Simons in Atlanta. The firm specializes in commercial real estate servicing several of the nation’s leading shopping and outlet mall owners, developers and investors.
Peter has extensive experience representing developers and tenants in commercial real estate transactions handling all legal aspects of the development of 20 million+ sq. feet of retail estate space throughout the U.S. in the past five years. He has negotiated and handled a substantial number of commercial leases on behalf of landlords/private equity firms as well as national retailer tenants.
Bob Wordes
Bob is an experienced commercial real estate professional serving as Chief Operation Officer of the Shopping Center Group, a nationwide firm that has a leasing/management portfolio of 65+ million square feet throughout the country.
Bob and his team provide a broad complement of commercial real estate advisory services to tenants, landlords, developers, investors, financial institutions and manage large shopping center complexes in several states with 500+ tenants. The Shopping Center group specializes in a broad range of services from project leasing, management, investment sales to construction management.
