Philip G. Yamalis of the Holy Cross Church in Pittsburgh, PA, and of the Kimisis Tis Theotokou Church in Aliqippa, PA, was invested as Archon in 2012 and conferred with the offikion Protekdikos. He has served on the Organizing Committee for the visit of His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Pittsburgh in 1997 and in 2007 he accompanied Metropolitan Maximos of Pittsburgh to the Patriarchal Synod meetings in Constantinople.

Archon Yamalis has been a major financial contributor to both parishes and to the Holy Metropolis of Pittsburgh.

Archon Yamalis, a 1990 graduate of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, is a tax specialist for the U.S. Treasury Department.
