Peter J. Skeadas was invested as Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in 2004 and conferred with the offikion Hieromnimon He was.elected National Treasurer of the AEP in January 2018. He also serves as Chair of the Archon’s Spirituality Committee and the annual John Halecky, Jr. National Archon Lenten Retreat. Prior to his being elected National Treasurer, he served on the Archon National Council and as Regional Commander for the Archdiocesan District. Together with his beloved wife,Aphrodite, he has participated on several Archon Pilgrimages to the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople and to Jerusalem, among others.

In addition to his labors with and for the AEP, Archon Peter serves the Mother Church in numerous other ways as well. He is a member of the Archdiocesan Council, serving on the National Finance Committee and the Archdiocesan District Finance Committee. He and Aphrodite are members of Leadership 100 and FOUNDERS of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation. 

They are stewards of the Church of Our Saviour in Rye, New York, where Archon Peter has served on the Board and on several church committees in administrative positions. Archon Peter and Aphrodite are also stewards of Saint Catherine’s Church in West Palm Beach, as well as of the Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine at the World Trade Center.

Archon Peter is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science. He and Aphrodite, while in the employ of an American oil company, lived for two years in Cape Town, South Africa, where he attended Cape Town’s Saint George Greek Orthodox Church.
