Dr. Michael J. Patzakis of St. Anthony in Pasadena, CA, and St. Sophia Cathedral in Los Angeles, CA, was invested as Archon in 10/22/2006 and conferred with the offikion Didaskalos Tou Genous. For many years he has organized and coordinated church-related youth athletic activities in Southern California.

Archon Patzakis, a noted orthopedic surgeon, is a tenured professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, University of Southern California School of Medicine. He also has mentored Greek orthopedic surgeons in a teaching program, sponsored by him at the same University. In appreciation, the University of Athens has awarded him an honorary doctorate degree.
