James Speros

Jim Speros is a member of the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Weston, MA. He was invested as an Archon on March 10, 2002 and appointed as Regional Commander of the Metropolis of Boston in 2023. Jim has served the church and its ministries in numerous capacities for more than 30 years including: High School Sunday School teacher for 18 years at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Westfield, NJ and on its parish council for 13 years; a member of the first Archdiocese Communications Council founded by Fr. Alex Karloutsos, Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Patriarchate; National Council member of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate where he led the Archon Spirituality Committee and annual retreat for the first 7 years; a member of Leadership 100 and a fulfilled Founder of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation; and last, on the Board of Trustees of Hellenic College Holy Cross. In recognition of his distinguished career and service to the church, he was awarded the Paradigm Award by the PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation.

Jim retired in 2017 as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer after a 41 career leading the marketing and communications for some of the world’s most prestigious companies including: AT&T, Ernst & Young, Marsh & McLennan Companies and Fidelity Investments. He and his wife of 45+ years live in Wellesley, MA and have two daughters and two granddaughters who are the love of their life. One their favorite sayings that has inspired them throughout their lives is, “Service is the rent we pay for the space we occupy while we are here.”
