James Pedas of St. Sophia Cathedral in Washington, DC, was invested as Archon in 2010 and conferred with the offikion Hypomnimatographos. He is a major contributor to and a significant spokesman for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese and the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Washington, DC.

Archon Pedas is a film producer, distributor, and exhibitor. He is one of the founders and associates of Circle Films, one of the main backers of American independent cinema. He and the company are responsible for producing Joel and Ethan Coen’s Blood Simple (1984), Raising Arizona (1987), and Miller’s Crossing (1990), as well as Robert M. Young’s Caught (1996).

Archon Pedas and his wife, Wanda, were married in 1981.
