Congressman Gus Billirakis of the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Tarpon Springs, state, was invested as Archon in 2009 and conferred with the offikion Referendarios. Following the tradition set by his father, Archon Billirakis has been one of the leading voices in the US Congress for the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

Archon Billirakis earned a BA in political science from the University of Florida in 1986 and a JD from Stetson University College of Law in 1989.

Archon Billirakis and his wife, Eva, were married in 1991, and they have four children.
