Cary J. Limberakis, DMD

Dr. Cary J. Limberakis, a steward of the St. Sophia, Saints Faith, Hope and Agape Greek Orthodox Church in Jeffersonville, PA and the St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church in Broomall, PA, was invested as Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate on October 10, 2004 by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios and conferred with the offikion Aktouarios. He has served on the Parish Council at both parishes, and as President at St. Luke, as well as serving on the Metropolis of New Jersey Metropolitan Council. He is the Archon Regional Commander of the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, Greater Philadelphia Region and has organized many symposia over the years on various Church-related topics, notably among them Reviving the Female Diaconate: Has the Time Come? He is the elder son of Father John and Presvytera Elizabeth Limberakis, both of blessed memory.

Dr. Limberakis received a B.A from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. from Villanova University, and a D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He is a general dentist who works alongside his son, Dr. Jonathan Limberakis, at their private practice, Limberakis Family Dentistry in Abington, a Philadelphia suburb. Together, they have travelled to Mount Athos to render dental care the to the monks at Vatopedi Monastery. Dr. Limberakis also serves on the Advisory Board to the Saint Phoebe Center for the Deaconess.

Throughout his dental career, Dr. Limberakis has been involved with the American Dental Association at the executive level at the local, state, and national levels. He has served as President of the Montgomery-Bucks Dental Society, the Valley Forge Dental Association and is currently the President-Elect of the Pennsylvania Dental Association. At the American Dental Association, he has served as Delegate to its House of Delegates and served on the Council of Dental Practice. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He is an Attending Faculty member and instructor at the Abington Jefferson Hospital General Practice Residency.

Archon Limberakis and his wife Alexis (Demetris), who serves on the Philoptochos National Board and as Vice President of the New Jersey Metropolis Philoptochos Board, were married in 1977 and have four children and three grandchildren.
