Archon Liveris earned a Bachelor’s degree with first-class-honors in Chemical Engineering from the University of Queensland. In 2005, he was awarded an honorary doctorate in science by his alma mater as well as being named Alumnus of the Year. He is Chairman and CEO of Dow Chemical, a global specialty chemical, advanced materials, agro-sciences and plastics company based in Midland, MI. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of The Institute of Chemical Engineers as well as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering. He is the author of Make it in America: the Case for Re-inventing the Economy (first published 2011, updated 2012) which presents a comprehensive set of practical policy solutions and business strategies. He has also been appointed to lead advisory groups to the White House under both the Obama and Trump administration.
