Andrew Arbes

Andrew Peter Arbes was elevated as an Archon Depoutatos by Metropolitan Silas of New Jersey at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Westfield, New Jersey in 1981. Andrew is also a recipient of the Archdiocese Medal of St. Paul.

Andrew is a former President and Trustee of Holy Trinity Church and served on the Parish Council of St. Nicholas Church in Newark, N.J.

He served as a member of the Board of Governors of South Amboy Hospital in South Amboy, N.J., and on the Board of Managers at the Perth Amboy Savings Institution that eventually became Bankers Savings in Perth Amboy. Andrew is a past President of the Thomas Jefferson Chapter of the Order of Ahepa, Elizabeth, N.J. and now a Life Time Member of Ahepa with the St. Mark chapter in Florida.

Andrew was active in the New Jersey Restaurant Association and served as President. He was named Restauranteur of the Year in 1984.

Andrew graduated from the University of Maryland in 1952. He was the owner of Clare and Coby’s restaurant in Old Bridge, N.J. a landmark for 35 years until his retirement in 1995.

Andrew and his wife, Sophia, have a daughter, Annitsa who is married to Philip J. Philliou. They reside in Haworth, N.J. with their two sons, Alexander and Paul. Their son, Peter Andrew is married to Molly (Menapace). They reside in Devon, Pa. with their three children, Nicholas and twins, Andrew and Chloe.

Andrew and Sophia are stewards of Holy Trinity Church in Westfield, N.J., St. George Church, Ocean, N.J. and St. Mark in Boca Raton, Florida.

They reside in Manasquan, N.J. and Boca Raton, Florida
