With the blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America and in consultation with His Eminence Metropolitan Sevastianos of Atlanta, Dr. Anthony J. Limberakis, National Commander of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, has appointed Archon Konstantinos (Dino) Mastorakis Regional Commander for the Metropolis of Atlanta, South Florida. Archon Dino joins other Regional Commanders in the Metropolis of Atlanta: Archons Theodore P. Vlahos, M.D., G. Thomas Yearout, Esq., Frank Boardman, James A. Frangis, Terry Sarantou, M.D., Gregory B. Saad, and Stephanos G. Trakas.
Archon Mastorakis succeeds Archon John Scurtis, who recently informed Dr. Limberakis of his intention to step down as Regional Commander. In recognition of his lengthy record of faithful, productive, and dedicated service to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Dr. Limberakis invited Archon Scurtis to assume Emeritus status, and he accepted.
Dr. Limberakis stated: “His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, in his sacred appointments to the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, invites senior, longstanding hierarchs, as well as more recently elevated hierarchs early in their episcopacies, to serve on the Synod. Likewise, I am appointing a dynamic, newly invested Archon to a significant leadership role in the AEP, to contribute energy and new perspective. Archon Konstantinos Mastorakis already has an impressive record of faithful service to God’s Holy Church, offering his Time, Talent and Treasure. He is a FOUNDER of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation and a participant of the Exarch’s Appeal. Archon Dino will be an outstanding Regional Commander, and no doubt will distinguish himself in the coming months and years, as he joins more senior Regional Commanders.”
Archon Mastorakis said: “I am both honored and inspired by this appointment, because I want to do everything within my power to help protect our Holy Mother Church, and as a Regional Commander I will have expanded opportunities to do so. We must do everything possible to support and defend the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and I am ready to go to work. We all must get involved to help promote and protect the freedom of religion in Constantinople and everywhere it is threatened. I am deeply grateful for the confidence that Dr. Limberakis has shown in me, and for the blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros and His Eminence Metropolitan Sevastianos.”
Archon Konstantinos Mastorakis and his beloved wife Contessa, who was recently appointed to the Metropolis of Atlanta Board of the Philoptochos Society, are active and faithful members of St. Mark Greek Orthodox Church in Boca Raton, Florida, where Archon Mastorakis has served on the Parish Council and in numerous other capacities. He served on the Enthronement Committee for his Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros in 2019 and the Committee for the Consecration of Saint Nicholas Shrine by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in 2021. He is the president and owner of Sentry Facility Specialists Inc., a national company that serves 23 states. It is headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, with offices also in Brooklyn, New York and Charlotte, North Carolina. Konstantinos Mastorakis was invested as Archon on October 19, 2025 and conferred with the offikion Referendarios.
According to the Bylaws of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Order’s National Commander is to appoint Regional Commanders to serve for a period of one year. Each Regional Commander serves as the representative of the National Council in the region in order to carry out the purposes, objectives and principles of the Archons and promote the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation.
An Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate is an honoree by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew for his outstanding service to the Church, and a well-known, distinguished, and well-respected leader of the Orthodox Christian community.
