On Sunday November 10, 2024, Dr. Anthony J. Limberakis, National Commander of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, will offer a special multimedia presentation at a unique Archon event at Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Somerville, Massachusetts. Dr. Limberakis will also recognize the newly-invested Archon Bill Galatis, the first Archon to be invested from the Somerville parish in 58 years.
Dr. Limberakis and Archon Galatis, like many families in Somerville, trace their roots to the coastal Asia Minor city of Alatsata, outside of Smyrna. The Dormition church holds a special place in the their heart, as their grandparents came from Asia Minor, settled in Somerville, and played a prominent role in the life of the parish.
The event is being organized by Regional Commanders James D. Speros and Costa Sideridis. Reservations are required. For reservations, please call the Dormition Church office: 617-625-2222.
Please plan on attending this unique celebration, which will be held at Dormition of the Virgin Mary Church, 29 Central St., Somerville, Massachusetts. Orthros begins at 8:30am, with the Divine Liturgy at 10:00am, followed by a luncheon and the presentation immediately afterward.
