The Deputy Minister of Culture and Sport of Greece, Mr. Lefteris Avgenakis, visited the Ecumenical Patriarchate today, August 13.

Mr. Avgenakis, accompanied by his wife, Ms. Lena Bania, and the Consul General of Greece in Istanbul, Ms. Georgia Sultanopoulou, was received by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who congratulated him on his appointment as minister.

During their meeting, they discussed the ministry and initiatives of the Mother Church, as well as issues related to the Greek people of Istanbul and the Orthodox flock in Turkey in general.
