On May 22, 2013, in conjunction with their annual Capitol Hill Day, the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) members and friends gathered to honor excellence in public service and the community as the 40th Congressional Banquet returned to Washington and was held at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel. Archon Andrew E. Manatos was honored with the "Outstanding Public Advocacy Award," presented by AHEPA Chairman of the Board Nicholas Karacostas. Father Alexander Karloutsos, Archon Spiritual Advisor and assistant to the Archbishop for Public Affairs was honored with the "AHEPA Excellence in Leadership Award," by Supreme President Dr. John Grossomanides.
