The Order of Saint Andrew’s Greater Delaware Valley region hosted a symposium entitled, "The Great Schism and the Current Dialogue of Love and Truth" at St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church in Broomall, PA on May 8, 2010.

Dr. George E. Demacopoulos, Associate Professor of Historical Theology and Co-Founding Director of the Orthodox Christian Studies Program at Fordham University, was the main speaker and offered insight on the historical and theological origins of the schism as well as surveyed some of the recent scholarly reappraisals of the East/West divide.

An afternoon session featured the National Commander Anthony J. Limberakis, MD who offered a presentation highlighting the history of the religious freedom persecutions of the Ecumenical Patriarchate with recent news and developments pursued by Archons with leaders in Washington, Madrid, Venice, Athens, Brussels, and Strasbourg. The Symposium concluded with remarks of His Eminence Metropolitan Evangelos of New Jersey.
