On April 6-7, 2013, the Metropolis of Atlanta Archons held their annual spring meeting and banquet which focused on the critical issue of religious freedom for the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the remembrance of the 90th anniversary of the destruction of Smyrna.
The Archons began the weekend with an opening prayer and greeting by His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta. Dr. Manuel N. Tissura, Regional Commander, introduced the guest speaker Dr. Andrew Ekonomou, Senior Counsel, American Center for Law and Justice who provided a preview to the second International Archon Religious Freedom Conference, scheduled to take place in December 2013 with the theme, “Tearing Down Walls.”
