His Excellency Vuk Jeremic, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, met with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Phanar on March 19, 2009. During their meeting, they discussed the close relationship that the Serbian Patriarchate has with the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Minster Jeremic thanked His All Holiness and spoke about the multifaceted activities and the world-wide contribution of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. He also emphasized that Bartholomew is an irreplaceable charismatic personality.

After his meeting, the Serbian Minister said the following concerning his visit to the Phanar, “This is the first time, I am really happy. I have a very strong impression; it is a great honor to be here and it is a completely fascinating experience.”
