The Ecumenical Patriarch and the Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan were present at a dinner (Iftar) for the Holy month of fasting for the Alevites. At the end of the Prime Minister’s presentation, he, along with representatives of the Alevite Institution offered His All Holiness a basket with apples produced by the religious seniors of Alevism while thanking him for the reference during his New Years address and his efforts and initiative for the tragic situation in the Middle East. His All Holiness also thanked Erdogan at the end of the event for his initiative for the prevalance of peace.
