Stockholm Center For Freedom Highlights Archons’ OSCE Warning About Turkish and Russian Institutional Human Rights Violations Against the Ecumenical Patriarchate

2024 OSCE

Dear brother Archons and friends of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate:

A European human rights organization has just illustrated the impact of the presence of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate (AEP) at the largest human rights meeting in Europe, the annual Warsaw Human Dimension Conference of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). On October 10, 2024, the Stockholm Center for Freedom published the news item below, highlighting the presentations of Archons Rocky Sisson and Hon. Steven G. Counelis at the OSCE.

The SCF’s publication demonstrates that the AEP is increasing in influence as our OSCE delegation proclaims the truth and educates the international community regarding the longstanding institutional human rights violations of Turkey and now Russia vis a vis the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, the Spiritual Center of the world’s 300 million Orthodox Christians.

The SCF, an advocacy organization that is dedicated to promoting the rule of law, democracy and human rights, with a special focus on Turkey, discusses at length a written report that Archon Rocky Sisson presented at the OSCE conference on October 7, 2024. On the following day, Archon Hon. Steven G. Counelis delivered an oral statement at the conference’s third Plenary Session and also submitted a written statement, providing a wealth of detail about how the Turkish government deprives the Ecumenical Patriarchate of essential rights.

We are grateful to God for this gratifying confirmation of the fact that the Archons have significant and consequential influence over the global discussion on human rights and the religious freedom of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. The mission of Archons Counelis and Sisson to the OSCE is a magnificent example of what it means to be protecting the future of faith, which is central to the mission of the AEP, and we owe them our congratulations and thanks. Άξιος!

Yours in the service of the Ecumenical Patriarchate,

Turkey’s policies threaten Greek Orthodox community, benefit Russia, church leaders warn

Two leaders of the Eastern Orthodox Christian community warned Monday at an Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) conference that the Turkish government’s policies are endangering the survival of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and the Greek Orthodox community in the country while opening the door for Russia to expand its influence.
