Dear Brother Archons,

The Archon office was recently notified regarding the sad news of the passing of Archon John Lewis Marks, of Chicago, IL, who fell asleep in the Lord on January 19, 2026. Archon John was invested with the title of Depoutatos on October 23, 1982.

I fondly recall when we worked on the Board of Trustees of Holy Cross / Hellenic College, when he generously offered his time, talent and resources to our beloved Σχολή.

On behalf of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate we express our deep sympathy to his wife, Niki, and their entire family with abiding faith in our Lord and Savior and with hope in His resurrection!
