His Beatitude Theodore II Expresses Gratitude to Order of Saint Andrew, Praises Efforts of Archons in America

His Beatitude Theodore II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, has written to Dr. Anthony J. Limberakis, National Commander of the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, expressing gratitude for his first-ever visit to the United States, as well as the first-ever visit of a Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa. During his historic presence to the United States, His Beatitude received the 2022 Athenagoras Human Rights Award, met with President Joe Biden, traveled with Archbishop Elpidophoros of America and received donations from the Order and individual Archons earmarked for the ministry of the ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria exceeding $350,000.

An unofficial translation into English of His Beatitude’s letter:

Honorable Doctor Anthony Limberakis, National Commander of the Brotherhood of Archons of the Holy Archdiocese of America, child of Our Modesty, may the grace, mercy and peace of our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ abound to you.

Returning to the seat of our Pontificate and Apostolic Patriarchate, we express wholehearted thanks for the awarding of the annual Patriarch Athenagoras Human Rights Award of the Archon Brotherhood of the Holy Archdiocese of America, over which you rightly preside, to Our Modesty, as well as for everything you did so worthily and well in general during our recent visit to America.

This visit offered us the opportunity to admire the spiritual rebirth of this beloved Eparchy of the Ecumenical Throne, which we hope will become a spiritual spark of God, which will ignite His light and His power to all the people of the New World. In this great struggle, the contribution of your Brotherhood has become valuable and unique.

Thankful again, from the bottom of our heart we wish you unfailing health and strength in your life and works, and we bestow upon you many paternal wishes and paternal blessings.

Fervent good wishes in the Lord.

In the great city of Alexandria,

Theodore II

Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa
