During their meeting, His All-Holiness and Prime Minister Zhelyazkov agreed that peace and solidarity must be continuously promoted on a global scale. The Ecumenical Patriarch also discussed with the Prime Minister the Church’s commitment to contemporary problems of humanity, the future of children, and the protection of the natural environment.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of faith and human virtues and faith as a source of wisdom and support. His All-Holiness congratulated the Prime Minister on Bulgaria’s success in joining the eurozone, and wished success, peace, prosperity and happiness to the people of Bulgaria.
