The annual Archon Weekend and Assembly of the Order of Saint Andrew will be held October 26-28 at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York City.
The weekend will focus on our efforts to secure religious freedom for the Mother Church of Constantinople and welcome the 2018 Class of Archons. The 2018 Athenagoras Human Rights Award will be presented to Father Alexander and Presbytera Xanthi Karloutsos, who have been a true partnership and team well-known throughout the Archdiocese and the Orthodox World. Father Alex and Presbytera Xanthi have served with unparalleled distinction the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, their beloved Dormition Church of the Hamptons and innumerable philanthropic endeavors in the international community. Indeed, they are most worthy recipients of the 2018 Athenagoras Human Rights Award.
The weekend begins Friday evening, with the Nicholas J. Bouras Award for Extraordinary Archon Stewardship at the annual Award Presentation and Dinner Dance that will recognize the many accomplishments of 2018 Award Recipient Archon George E. Safiol within the Church, the business world, the military and in the field of higher education. The event will be held at the New York Athletic Club (180 Central Park S., New York, NY 10019).

The Award is named after the late National Vice Commander Nicholas J. Bouras, Archon Depoutatos, who had demonstrated during his lifetime remarkable leadership as a faithful son of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and extraordinary Archon stewardship of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

Archons-elect will be introduced to Archbishop Demetrios and a group photo of the Archon Class of 2018 will be taken.
