Dear Brother Archons,
It’s that time of year again when we nominate worthy, outstanding churchmen to join the ranks of Archons of the Great Church of Christ, as Protectors of the Future of Faith. If you have carefully identified an exceptional Orthodox faithful who exemplifies the qualities requisite in receiving the oldest and most profound recognition of Christendom for a layman, please direct that individual to archons.org/candidate-credentials to complete a Credential Form (CR). Nominations and completed CRs must be submitted by March 31, 2024.
The following individuals participate in the selection protocol of new Archons:
- Local Hierarch
- Parish Priest
- Nominating Archon
- Endorsing Archon and
- Regional Commander.
The completed credential forms and the various letters of recommendation are reviewed by the Selection Committee, of which the Exarch, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America is an active member. With the blessings of the Exarch, the successful candidates are submitted to the Ecumenical Patriarch for final disposition.
