The Holy Relic will be placed in the Holy Sacred Patriarchal and Stavropygian Monastery in Vasilika, Halkidiki, in order to be displayed for veneration by the faithful.
A large fragment of the Holy Relic of St. Anastasia the Deliverer from Potions was given to the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew by the clerics Bogdan Guliafov and Petros Zuyev of the Autocephalous Church of Ukraine at their meeting today, Wednesday, April 10, at the Phanar.
During the meeting, Metropolitan Apostolos of Miletu, Abbot of the Patriarchal and Stavropygian Monastery of St. Anastasia the Deliverer from Potions of Vasilik, Halkidiki, attended the meeting.
His All-Holiness thanked the two clerics for their courteous gift and handed over the Holy Relic to the Metropolitan of Miletus so that it would be placed in the historic monastery of Halkidiki and to be displayed for the veneration of the faithful. He expressed the hope that this gift would be the precursor to the return to the monastery of the venerable skull and the other remains of the saint, which were kept in the common area of the monastery until 2012, when they were stolen.
