At the invitation of His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta and Very Reverend Father George Tsahakis, Chancellor of the Metropolis of Atlanta, Archons Steve Trakas and Terry Sarantou gave a presentation on the current activities of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate at the Metropolis of Atlanta Clergy-Laity Assembly, which was held in Tarpon Springs, Florida on June 23 and 24, 2023.

Archons Trakas and Sarantou gave two wide-ranging and informative ninety-minute presentations. Their principal topics included a history of the Church, the definition of an Archon, the five key issues that are the focus of every Archon, and the current Archon Engagement Committee structure with an emphasis on Archon Youth Engagement and the Pilgrimage of Discovery.

The presentations were extremely well-received. Each included a PowerPoint and Instagram Videos of the Pilgrimage of Discovery. The presentations were interactive, as Archons Trakas and Sarantou asked the audience questions about the Church and tossed a hat to those who participated. They have found that Archon baseball caps are very popular with audiences; to date, Archons Trakas and Sarantou have given away almost 50 hats. “We are particularly proud,” they noted, “that Metropolitan Alexios proudly wore his Archon baseball cap.”

Attendees included clergy, parishioners, and Archons including Regional Commanders from the Metropolis of Atlanta. Archon Regional Commander Theodore P. Vlahos, M.D. was the host of the event, and Archon Dr. Nicholas Loutsion represented the Archon National Council. Archons Trakas and Sarantou now plan to give presentations to Church youth and summer campers.
