Yiğit Bulut, the anchorman-turned-prime ministerial chief advisor and the inventor of the famous telekinesis theory (in which dark forces are plotting to murder Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by telekinesis), has a new and equally fascinating theory: A majority of Greeks, if put to a popular referendum, would vote to quit EU membership, turn back the clock 200 years, and rejoin Turkey. Mr. Bulut should refrain from mentioning this theory if he ever travels to Hellenic lands – unless he is in the comfort of friends and has consumed enough ouzo to disqualify him from being taken seriously. Al-Monitor reports on 'Erdogan Uses Christian Seminary As Chip in Talks With Greece'

On March 25, 2012, US President Barack Obama congratulated Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for his decision to reopen the Theological School of Halki. The Halki seminary, the main theological school of Eastern Orthodox Christianity, was shut down by the Turkish government in 1971. For the last couple of years, the AKP (Justice and Development Party) raised the hopes of Orthodox Christians all around the world that the seminary was to reopen. Many were sure the democratization package of Sept. 30 would realize this dream. It did not, and indeed now the possibility looks even less likely. Full Text

The annual Archon Weekend and Assembly of the Order of Saint Andrew will be held October 18-20 at the Hilton Hotel in New York. 60 Minutes will be the recipient of this year's Athenagoras Human Rights Award at the Archon Grand Banquet, Saturday, October 19. The Nicholas J. Bouras Award for Extraordinary Archon Stewardship Dinner Dance will be held on Friday evening, October 18. Archon Stephen J. Yallourakis, MD, DDS, will receive this year's Award.
